Used time End of the Red Human - Svetlana Alexievich

Svetlana Alexievich completes in her book "Used Time" her most important project, the utopian voices. The book comes to be the fifth part or the fifth episode of the project in which the author chronicles the unheard voices left behind by wars and human tragedies in the last century. The book was published along with her other Belarusian works that earned her the Nobel Prize in Literature, by Mamdouh Adwan Publishing, translated by Nizar Oyoun Al-Soud, among distinguished political books. About "Used Time": Russia witnessed several revolutions, disturbances, and bloody civil wars at the beginning of the twentieth century, which led to the emergence of the Soviet Union, portraying an image of the great empire that is invincible. Some saw it as the realization of the red socialist dream in building a superpower, with its influence extending over nearly half the world. Others saw it as one of the harshest forms of oppressive totalitarian rule, with vast prisons and a difficult economic situation. In 1991, the Soviet Empire collapsed rapidly after several revolutions, disturbances, and bloody civil wars. The red man woke up suddenly to find himself living in the ruins of an empire collapsing into dozens of conflicting states, witnessing a huge economic collapse and the end of the great dreams he had lived. Thus, the red man’s end. In her book, Svetlana Alexievich does not seek answers to the big questions that concern the history reader, but rather thousands of small details of daily life passed by, through collecting dozens of testimonies from ordinary people who lived this experience and its fluctuations. Svetlana searches for the small nighttime conversations that disappear with the morning, for the dream of a new future, of another time. But the time itself is repeated; used time.
